Wedding blogger confession time: it's hard to impress us. We see lots of weddings.. a lot. Hundreds. The most beautiful ones end up gracing the pages of the blog, and we get to share them with all of you. And every once in a while you come across a wedding with a special story, or a totally unique detail that completely knocks our socks off... and this Central Park Loeb Boathouse Wedding is one of those. Why? It's stunning. And it was planned in THREE MONTHS. Yes, three months. Kelly + Jason's day was full of thoughtful details, stolen, quiet moments and an epic party with 120 of their closest family + friends. A wedding this gorgeous is proof that there's no perfect timeline: 3 months, 3 years, 3 days- whatever you want to celebrate the first day of the rest of your life together, go do it.Read More
Mekina summed this session up perfectly when she said that these two are the kind of people you want to hang out with. I don't know about you, but anyone who doesn't take themselves too seriously is a fast friend in my book! Amanda + Dave's engagement session at Liberty State Park was simple, sweet and absolutely adorable. With a session this perfect and a couple totally in love, we can't wait to see what their wedding photos look like!Read More
We may be deep into spring, but today's engagement has us remembering those cool fall nights from last year. Whitney + Rocco's story is so sweet, and we love that they came back out East for their session with Mekina Saylor, and will again for their wedding this fall! The gorgeous backdrop of the Ridgewood Country Club, deep bold colors and the cutest couple ever = a match made in heaven.Read More

We know you'll think that this wedding is incredible, but when you hear the story of Beth + Pete's wedding day (and how they kept their wedding location a SECRET!!), you'll love it even more. This stunning New York City wedding from Amy Rizzuto was held at The River Cafe with views of the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan skyline, and everything from Beth's shoes to their yellow cab were iconic New York.
From Amy: Beth and Pete truly had a FABULOUS NYC wedding! They were married on June 29th, seven years to the day from when they began dating. This fun-loving couple, along with 35 of their closest family and friends, traveled from New Zealand and the UK for a day full of surprises. Beth and Pete decided to keep the venue and all the details of the day a secret from their guests! Excitement built as a school bus pulled up to the Ritz Carlton in Battery Park to escort guests to the venue. They took in views of South Street Seaport and the Statue of Liberty as they crossed over the Brooklyn Bridge. Cheers could be heard as they pulled up to the iconic River Cafe! The sun danced across the Manhattan skyline creating a breathtaking view for Beth and Pete’s ceremony. After a champagne toast at cocktail hour, a gospel choir showed up and gave an incredible performance! A vintage taxi drove Beth and Pete down cobblestone streets to our portrait locations where we captured some of the most beautiful sunset portraits EVER! Sweet toasts were given, fairy lights twinkled in the surrounding gardens, and a miniature chocolate Brooklyn Bridge made the perfect sweet treat at the end of the evening.

Anytime Mekina Saylor is behind the camera, you know that what you're about to see will be epically gorgeous, and this summer wedding is hands-down one of our favorites. Chris + Allie's Eagle Oaks Country Club Wedding is not only classic in every way, but also stylish beyond words. We love every single detail, and know you will, too!
From Mekina: Chris and Allie met when they were eleven and remained friends throughout childhood. They technically met at their sister's soccer game. Both Chris and Allie have a sister the same age. Allie's sister went to play in college so Chris and Ally were at several tournaments throughout growing up. After college, they knew it was meant to be and decided to marry on her grandparents' wedding anniversary, June 20th. For the entire year of planning, Allie ran around the tri-state area with her mom, aunts, and grandmothers, collecting all types of mercury glass for their tablescapes. It was a romantic touch, and she couldn't get enough!! Their parents are the best of friends, so after fifteen years, you couldn't tell the two families apart at the wedding. However, no wedding is complete without something going wrong. Well on the morning of, her brother realized his tux was different than everyone else's. The vintage car she imagined and was planning on surprising her dad with never showed up. Their monogram was wrong on our ice sculpture and it still was the most magnificent day! They are now living their happily-ever-after in Red Bank, New Jersey.
