We know how hard it is to come back from a long weekend, but believe me, this gorgeous fall wedding from Cassi Claire Photography will be the perfect start to your day. Adam + Betty's wedding at Lake Valhalla Club is the epitome of rustic elegance. With the most perfect shade of berry, gorgeous greenery and bright white florals, their day was romantic and sweet. And while we could go on for days about how gorgeous Betty was in her lace gown, we have to give a shout out to Adam and his totally perfect gingham bow tie! Fall prep done right.Read More
Sometimes I think if I had to do it all again, I'd have a winter wedding. There's something so intimate and romantic about them, and I absolutely love the way winter flowers pop against white. This January wedding at the Lake Valhalla Club from our Preferred Vendors, Brielle Kaschak is as beautiful as it gets. Warm whites, winter greenery and the prettiest shade of blue make this New Jersey Wedding a favorite. Al and Therese will be celebrating their one-year anniversary the day after New Year's, and we know they'll be looking back at this incredible photos when the day comes.
From Brielle: I couldn't think of a better start to kick off to a new year than to be celebrating the love between two people at their Lake Valhalla Club Wedding in Montville, NJ! We had such a blast at their engagement session in the fall at the location of their first date, I just knew this day was going to be special! After dating for 9 years these high school sweethearts were finally tying the knot, and I could not get enough of hearing their friends and family reminiscing about stories of them together. The warm weather we've had in New Jersey into the new year gave us a great day for a winter themed wedding with all the perks of not freezing until the sun went down. There was no shortage of tears, starting early in the morning when Al sent a special surprise letter to Therese while the girls got ready in the hotel room. The sweet emotions continued to radiate from the couple and their guests through the beautiful church ceremony, and ?all the way to the first dance where there was not a dry eye in the room as snow fell from above the dance floor!?
It's a very happy Friday, indeed. With with all the incredible weather we've been having, warm summer days don't seem so far away... and then there's this gorgeous wedding at the Lake Valhalla Club from Idalia Photography. Christina and Zach created the most beautiful lakeside wedding, full of personal touches and the most stunning greenery. As a paper person, I love how they carried the design all the way through the place cards, but my favorite part has to be their first look. Is there anything sweeter than a couple seeing each other for the first time on their wedding day?
From Alexandra: Christina and Zach met and started dating while in college at Monmouth University. Their wedding day was long-awaited, and they finally tied the knot at Lake Valhalla Club in Montville, NJ last August.
THE WEDDING DAY
The minute we saw Christina that morning, we couldn’t help but notice how she was beaming with joy and excitement. She was just so happy that the day had finally arrived and she was looking forward so much to getting her wedding dress on and seeing Zach for the first time that day. Zach awaited Christina on one of the docks at Lake Valhalla and it was obvious that the mere sight of his beautiful bride calmed his nerves and made him feel at ease. After a few private moments, they were ready to begin their photo session. The lake was a perfect backdrop and we couldn’t have asked for better weather either!
When it came time for their ceremony, I loved seeing the attention to detail that Christina and Zach put into every aspect of the day. Their wedding day had a natural and organic feel to it, and it was sprinkled with hints of rustic burlap and elegant lace that brought it all together. My favorite part of the day was the ring warming ceremony when each one of Christina and Zach’s guests had a chance to say a silent blessing while holding the wedding bands before passing them on to the next guest. What a wonderful way to include your guests in a meaningful way!
How they met:
Christina: Zach and I met by chance! During my last semester at Monmouth University, my housing situation fell through and I ended up living with a few girlfriends from my sorority who were mutual friends with Zach and his fraternity brothers! After a couple of months of hanging out with our friends and spending time together, Zach brought me home for his mom’s famous Vodka Rigatoni and soon after, we became a couple!
Zach: We both met in college. One of our mutual friends brought her over to my house with everyone else and from then on it was history. We really didn’t go on many dates at the start because we were both poor college students, but I remember always going out dinner whenever we could. We have eaten so many things over the course of our relationship, I really don’t remember what the first thing was, ha! I do remember cooking pasta for her once when we first met (first and only time :) haha.
Christina: Zach and I had talked about getting married and about our future often, so I knew he would finally propose one day when he was ready. Over 7 years later, I couldn’t even imagine the day he would finally pop the question. We planned a trip to celebrate my birthday with friends in New Orleans. The day before, after work, I met him to drop off his car to get work done while we were away. As we pulled up to our apartment, I noticed the string lights in the kitchen we plugged in, and couldn’t understand for the life of me how or who had turned them on. I was actually nervous that someone had been in our house and Zach just looked at me and smiled, nodding me to go in the house and find out. I walked up the stairs, and opened the door to see champagne, roses, and music playing. It was truly an out-of-body experience as I realized what was actually happening, I turned around and there he was on one knee with a big nervous smile! I still have no idea what he said, but out popped my twin sister and her husband who had helped set the scene, and I cried for a good two hours that night from utter shock and happiness. I waited a long time for that moment and it was a day I’ll never forget. Zach completely shocked me and we celebrated our engagement with friends in the Big Easy; incredible trip!
Zach: We had a trip planned for a very long time to New Orleans with all of our (still mutual) friends. At the time I scheduled it, it was more for just a fun vacation than an engagement. As it got closer it made more and more sense to do it then. I was really worried about taking it on the plane, etc. so I decided to do it right before the trip. I enlisted the help of her twin sister. I know she wouldn’t have wanted a big production or anything because it was going to be very overwhelming. So I decided to just keep it to her sister and husband. We had to run an errand that morning before the trip. While we were out her sister ran in and decorated the house before we got back. When we got back, the whole house was different and they were standing there. At first she was very confused but turned around to me, on one knee. The next morning we got on a plane to go to New Orleans with all our friends and celebrate. It was perfect!
