After an extended holiday weekend, we're back with a wedding we've been dying to share with you since the moment it landed in our inbox! Shauna, today's gorgeous bride, shared her story with us, and once we saw these beautiful images from Jenny Haury, we were smitten. 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel, in the far-northwest part of Upstate New York, is about as magical and pristine as it gets. With the St. Lawrence River as their backdrop, Shauna and Nic planned an unforgettable day for their family and friends, full of love and laughter. We adore everything about this wedding, so it's hard to choose a favorite: between Shauna's stunning gown, the perfect fall flowers and the absolute JOY these to share when they're together, we know you'll fall in love with it, just like we did!
From the Bride: Nic and I first laid on eyes on one another at Golds Gym in Charleston SC. Stubborn me was very happy being single so when he did reach out I was anything but interested. After a few weeks and some convincing from my friends we went on our first date to sushi in downtown Charleston. I’m not sure about love at first sight, but I fully believe in love after a first date. We had a 3 hour first date, I even snuck in a goodnight kiss. I had fallen flat on my face for this man who had the sexiest voice, the sweetest smile and shared the same passion for the fitness as I did. We were inseparable, within 4 weeks we moved in together and 6 months later he proposed at our first bodybuilding show with our parents as witnesses; the first time anyone in my life has ever surprised me.
To this day our favorite thing to do together is motivate and support one another especially in our careers and fitness.
We are both very passionate about our careers. Nic is a Washington DC firefighter/ paramedic, and I am a diagnostic sonographer in northern Virginia. Together we enjoy cooking, tasting all sorts of new coffee, taking road trips to spend the day in a new city and visiting our families in Ohio and upstate NY.
Our wedding day was the most magical day of our lives. It was in upstate NY on the St Lawerence River. It was a whopping 32 degrees and perfect. Every day we talk about how we would do it all over again. Our vendors were incredible, the venue was phenomenal and the love you felt all around was unmeasurable. It was the first time our families and friends all met and you would think they had been friends forever. Guests came from Ohio, Florida, Pennsylvania, California, and Alaska! We are forever indebted to our family and friends for sharing the best day ever with us!!
