Wedding blogger confession time: when I started Red Oak Weddings a year ago in February, I genuinely had no idea how wide, and deep, the wedding industry was in the tri-state area. Every week I get dozens of submissions that take my breath away, some of the from photographers that are brand-new to me, and at venues I've never seen. When Breanna Elizabeth Photography sent us Joe + Kim's summer wedding, I couldn't stop scrolling. This gorgeous couple, at this stunning venue... it's what wedding blogger dreams are made of! Full of personality, DIY projects and a dash of Kim's signature vintage style, this wedding day is sure to be one of our favorites for a very long time!
From Breanna: I had only met Joe and Kim once for coffee, but when I arrived as Kim was getting ready, I instantly felt like family. Kim and Joe are two of the sweetest souls, and they poured their hearts into every detail of their wedding day. Irons Mill Farmstead is a gorgeous venue, and the location perfectly complemented Kim’s vintage style. So many details were handmade by Kim and her mom, and the bar even featured Joe's signature drinks. I snuck Joe and Kim outside for some sunset portraits, and it was definitely my favorite part of the day! These two newlyweds had a few moments alone, and the backdrop and golden light were absolutely perfect. As the night wore on, it felt less like a wedding day, and more like a giant outdoor party. Irons Mill Farmstead features a stunning barn, a campfire for roasting marshmallows, and plenty of lawn games. From the dancing to the laid back nature, every guest had a great time.
