Today's wedding is literally a breath of fresh air, and after that teeny tiny taste we had of warm weather yesterday, I feel like we can actually start dreaming of spring again! Katie + Chris brought their wedding dreams to life at one of Hudson Valley's prettiest venues, The Garrison, and we're smitten over the simple beauty of their space. Thompson Photography Group was there to capture every last detail: from the mismatched bridesmaid dresses and the stunning floral design, to the hand-made wooden decor from the bride's father, there is eye-candy at every turn. Katie + Chris' day was absolute perfection, and we're pretty sure you'll love it as much as we do!
From Katie (the bride): July 7th, 2017 was honestly the best day of my life. It was everything I ever imagined, and more. I loved the feeling of being in one place, with everyone I love. Planning for the wedding was actually easier than I thought. Having my wedding at The Garrison meant I didn’t have to do much for decorations. The views, greenery, natural light, and overall simplicity was enough by itself. However, I still put my dad to work for some last minute touches. He made all of my decorations, including my wooden log centerpieces, escort card frame, and welcome sign easel…you can say he is very handy. As far as the bridesmaid dresses, I knew I didn’t want them all to be in the same dress. I decided to mix-n-match my bridesmaid’s dresses in blush pinks, soft greys, and floral designs. For the flowers, I chose neutral/blush flowers with lots of greenery. Finally, anyone who knows me, knows I LOVE candy. Which means, I obviously had to have a candy bar at my wedding! Seemed to be a huge hit for not only me but the guests as well ;) It was the perfect ending to our beginning.
