From Emily: A Wedding Romance for the Movies! Ashley & Ben’s wedding was straight out of the movies-- literally! These high school sweethearts met while working at their local movie theater, and found so many ways to incorporate charming cinematic touches into their celebration. They both gave each other movie-themed gifts on the morning of the wedding! Ben sewed together theater ticket stubs which he used to wrap Ashley’s gifts. Ashley gifted Ben a pair of shiny projector cufflinks and a custom vinyl pressing of their favorite songs which she called “Our Soundtrack.” She even used photos from their engagement session for the album sleeve cover!
Ashley looked so lovely in her Watters gown. Gina from True Beauty Marks gave her an effortlessly romantic updo and a soft pink look which perfectly complemented her sparkling blush colored heels! Ben’s handsome deep blue tux and white bow tie made him every bit the Hollywood gentleman, and the cufflinks from his bride were the perfect finishing touch.
After a tearful ceremony beneath the spectacular vaulted ceilings of St. John the Evangelist Church, Ashley & Ben shared two theater cokes on the way to Union Trust for their reception. The venue’s interior was striking and called for fabulous decor to match. Lauren from Belovely made sure the florals were up to task! She filled gilded vases with beautifully dense, pale pink roses and enormous, ruffled peonies and wove garlands of greenery through towering, gold candelabras. Vintage style movie tickets served as the design for escort cards, and small gold & white buckets of movie popcorn awaited each guest at their seat. Ashley & Ben had selected some of their favorite romantic movie quotes and place framed versions on each of the reception tables. The quote on their sweetheart table? From one of their favorite Harry Potter movies, “Always.”
