If you've read the blog for any amount of time, you already know that we LOVE how couples can put their own spin on tradition to make their day completely personalized, and this gorgeous wedding from Thompson Photography is another wonderful example. Sean and Kathryn's military wedding at The Farmers Museum in Cooperstown, NY is absolute perfection. Military weddings are steeped in tradition, and these two not only honored those, but also made the day uniquely theirs. From the saber arch and the groomsmen in uniform, to the DIY signage and potpourri satchels favors, their entire day was full of thoughtful details and of course, ended with happily-ever-after for The Captains Beckman.
From the Bride: Our wedding theme was All-American garden party. Sean and I are dual-military, so we incorporated some military traditions like the saber arch. We were introduced as the Captains Beckman instead of Mr. and Mrs. Leading up to the wedding we collected a number of Blue Willow style vases with the help of family and friends. Mohican Flowers did a phenomenal job arranging all the flowers. As far as DIY projects go, a family friend made all of our signs. I made our wedding favors, which were potpourri satchels with personalized stamps. Guests could choose between Adirondack Balsam or Texas Blue Bonnet since I am from NY and Sean is from Texas.
