A big dose of pretty today from one of our favorites, Jess Waston! Emily and Tyler's summer wedding at Glasbern Inn was both beautiful and intimate, and full of inspiration for every couple. Inspired by their rustic modern venue, Emily and Tyler chose a coral and gray color palette and simple decor to let the natural beauty of the Glasbern Inn be the focus. A gorgeous summer day, full of love and emotion, and these two quite literally had the wedding of their dreams.
From the bride: Our wedding day made us feel a whirlwind of emotions. We were happy to finally be committing our lives to each other forever and sharing that moment with our family and friends. We were relieved that after two years of planning were finally coming together and that all the hard work had paid off. We felt as though we were so busy and that time flew by so much so that by the end of the night we couldn’t believe it was all over.
We picked Glasbern Inn for its beautiful setting and all-inclusive amenities. We knew as soon as we drove up their driveway and started walking around the facility that this was it. The country charm and modern/rustic feel felt like home to us.
We decided to go with coral and gun metal gray as our wedding colors because we felt the gray was enough contrast to help the designs we had in mind really pop, but at the same time the coral seemed fitting for a summer wedding and allowed us to incorporate floral elements.
Emily and her mom decided to skip the florist and wedding planner to have a more do-it-yourself wedding. From the ceremony decorations to the reception centerpieces, every idea came from their brain trust. Emily’s mom spent hours cutting and designing paper flowers for the center pieces, visiting countless craft and fabric stores and dedicating her entire basement to provide space for trying out wedding set-ups and designs as well as wedding storage.
The most important part of the day for us was the moment that we first saw each other at the beginning of the ceremony. We had been together for over six years, but when we saw each other it was as though we were seeing each other for the first time. We both had to fight back tears.
