We think it's pretty obvious that we love all things wedding: the proposal and engagement. The dress and the rings. The flowers and the stationery and all the thoughtful details... but when we get to feature a couple (from one of our favorite photographers!) who has already been featured on the blog?! Well, our day is made! Laura and Joe are perhaps the cutest couple ever, and while we LOVED their Christmas engagement session, we're head-over-heels for their wedding. Their wedding day was the perfect blend of modern elegance, and clearly full of so much joy. Get ready to be inspired - this one is sure to be a favorite of ours for a very, very long time!
From Nicole: Where do I even start with my love for these two sweethearts?! I first met Laura and Joe over one year ago when we chatted over coffee about how they met (when Joe stopped in the restaurant that Laura was working at after a country music show), their vision for their Engagement Session (golden hour during the fall in New Paltz, NY), an idea they had for their Save The Date cards (a cuddly Christmas session, photographed on the historic Hugenot Street in New Paltz which was also just recently featured on Red Oak Weddings!) and of course their plans for a beautiful wedding at West Hills Country Club (a venue they knew they wanted to get married at even before they were even engaged).
Even though that first meeting was only a little over one year ago, I feel like I've known these two forever. I was instantly drawn to how sweet they were with each other, and how genuinely happy go-lucky they were. They're the kind of people that you feel honored to call your friends and when the hug you, it just feels so sincere. Since meeting, I've also witnessed firsthand just how generous they are over and over again... at their own wedding they were sure to have a birthday cake and special moment for a close friend of theirs, every toast mentioned their constant graciousness towards others, and their team at West Hills Country Club loved them so much that they did everything possible without hesitation to provide them the wedding of their dreams (including moving an outdoor ceremony indoors when it started to pour, and then moving it back outdoors when the skies cleared!). But their kindness runs so much deeper than that, most evidently seen in their generously overflowing hearts for each other. It's a sight to behold and I know they'll treasure their wedding day, with their much deserved rainbow, forever.
