Oh friends, we're so excited! Meet-the-maker posts are back, and we're thrilled to kick off the new year with Meghan of Lace & Belle! Supporting local makers and entrepreneurs is a big part of our heart, and we absolutely love getting the opportunity to let you see a different side of the businesses you follow. Meghan wears many hats: stationery designer, hand-letterer and a mom to the cutest boxer on Instagram (seriously). Her designs are a perfect blend of modern and timeless, and her passion for the couples she works with. Get to know Meghan and the heart behind Lace & Belle, below!
Tell us a little bit about you, and how you got started!
I always had a love of all things pretty paper and even had quite a few pen pals back in the day. While most teenage girls were shopping and finding their style through fashion, I could be found in the mall browsing and purchasing new stationery sets. Growing up I was always creative, but it wasn’t until after I designed my menu cards, table numbers, and escort cards that I became passionate about design. Following my big day, close friends inquired about my work and it wasn’t long before I began working with some of the sweetest engaged couples and clients.

What services do you offer and/or what do you specialize in?
I currently offer a wide range of design services including custom wedding invitation suites, day-of stationery (i.e. menu cards, ceremony programs, cocktail napkins, favor tags), special occasion stationery and hand lettering services. While I love working on all types of styled events, it’s those that embody the rustic, refined, and timeless aesthetic, in which I specialize and excel in.
What makes your business unique?
Each of my couples are a part of the design and proofing process every step of the way. They are never left out of any stage of the process and through the design journey, I’m here to answer any questions or concerns you may have. I also hand assemble each stationery suite personally and look over each piece before it leaves my home studio.

What is your favorite part of working with couples?
I absolutely love the meaningful relationships that are created throughout the design process. Hearing their stories and turning their ideas into their dream stationery for one of the happiest days of their life can instantly make my heart skip a few extra beats. I’m very lucky that I even had the opportunity to work with some of these couples for a second and third time!

One piece of advice for couples?
With so much inspiration at your fingertips, it’s easy to fall victim to trends or ideas that might not necessarily be “you.” Stay true to yourself and the aesthetic that speaks

Childhood career aspiration?
In my adolescent years, I always wanted to be a pre-k teacher. In college I was all about being a PR girl or an event planner.
Coffee or tea?
I like big cups [of coffee] and I cannot lie. (Light and sweet with coconut cream, please!) On very rare occasion I’ll have yogi tea.
